South Central College — Physics Instructor

South Central College is seeking a unlimited, full time Physics Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires being part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. This position will work college wide to support both campuses. Classes will be based on the North Mankato campus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for classroom instruction and is expected to have the ability to work with a diverse population of student learners. The instructor will be expected to design course materials (syllabus, lectures, assignments, exams, etc.), maintain regular communication with students and engage in teaching and mentoring students. The faculty member will also assist students within the classroom lab sessions.

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s degree with a major in physics or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in physics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified to teach Math courses – e.g. college algebra, basic statistics, and general math. Ability to teach physics and math courses in a variety of formats – e.g. face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line.
