MIT Sloan School of Management — Director of Media Relations

The director of media relations at the MIT Sloan School of Management will play an essential role in raising awareness and understanding of MIT Sloan with its target audiences of current and future global business leaders around the world. This is an opportunity to take an established and successful media relations program to the next level for a top brand.

The director of media relations will work with the executive director and dean to direct the school’s media relations strategy and lead the strategic response to all media queries. This person is a member of the leadership team in the Office of Communications and helps to sustain and enhance the creative, inclusive, and energetic culture in the office while working on cross-functional efforts to build the MIT Sloan brand. The director also leads and mentors a team of media relations professionals within the office. The person in this role engages regularly with MIT Sloan faculty to learn about and promote their work and provides strategic media counsel to senior leadership. The director also analyzes and optimizes the MIT Sloan media relations program on an ongoing basis, experimenting with new approaches and exploring new platforms and outlets to promote MIT Sloan.
