  • PhD or other terminal degree in biological sciences or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching college-level cell and molecular biology.

The Science Department at Cabrini University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology position, commencing August 2022 to teach Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics courses. We are seeking a creative, innovative educator who will teach Cell and Molecular Biology lecture and lab; as well as Genetic courses to science majors. The successful candidate will also rotate in the introductory biology course sequence working with current instructors, so excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential. The University encourages all faculty to contribute to the Core Curriculum and the Honors Program. We anticipate there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute to other undergraduate classes in the future according to the interests and expertise of the appointee and the needs of the department. Successful candidates must maintain an active research agenda in an area of specialization, engage undergraduate students in research and utilize an effective teaching style that supports a diverse student body. Other responsibilities will include student advising, capstone project teaching and supervision, curriculum development, service to the department and University, and engagement in scholarly and professional activities. Experience teaching underprepared populations is a plus.

The Cabrini University Science Department is part of the School of Arts and Sciences. It provides courses for undergraduate majors in biology, biochemistry, chemistry and nursing, minors in biology, chemistry and environmental science, and contributes to the general education curriculum of the University.
