The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB) seeks an innovative, visionary, and inclusive leader to Chair the Department of Criminal Justice. The Department trains students in criminal justice, forensic science, computer forensics, and pre-law, and offers multiple degree programs, including a B.S. in Criminal Justice, B.S. in Digital Forensics, M.S. in Criminal Justice, and M.S. in Forensic Sciences.  The department has about 350 undergraduate majors, 25 graduate students, and 13 full-time faculty members. The successful candidate will be an accomplished scholar with administrative experience, experience with external research funding, and a vision to lead a department that emphasizes research excellence, quality undergraduate and graduate instruction, and community engagement.  Appointment at the full professor level with tenure is expected.
