Job Description:
SUNY Empire State College seeks a full-time Operations Manager (State title: Staff Associate). As an integral part of the operations team, assisting in multiple areas with multiple projects.  This position will act as the operational point of contact for Saratoga Springs locations and will report directly to the Senior Director of Operations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for operational oversight in the following areas:

Bookstore

  • Assist in setting up terms for online textbook purchases
  • Work as liaison between Bookstore Contractor staff and faculty to resolve unavailable title issues
  • Guide and assist faculty with textbook ordering and specific needs as it relates to courses
  • Assist students in resolving various issues with the bookstore
  • Work with Student Accounts to get monthly billing payments to bookstore contractor
  • Oversee online bookstore contract and financials for SUNY Empire

Print Shop/Mail Room

  • Oversees budget for on campus print shop and mail room
  • Oversees SUNY Empire business machine (copier) contract
  • Analyzes and monitors print usage reports as it relates to SUNY print policy
  • Assists Mailroom and Printshop in business decisions
  • Oversees print shop personnel
  • Oversees mailroom personnel

Equipment Management

  • Oversee annual inventory of equipment and assets
  • Manages SUNY Empire Fleet reservations
  • Oversee Off Campus Use process for technology
  • Manage ServiceNow and SUNY RAM inventory databases
  • Properly process and dispose of unneeded equipment following guidelines
  • Recommends new process for efficiency within department

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in operations, with experience in budget and contract management
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with leading teams and working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with higher education bookstore operations
  • Experience within SUNY asset management and inventory process

Special Information:

  • This position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY
  • Travel to SUNY Empire locations across NYS will be required
  • VISA sponsorship is not available for this position

Additional Information:

Rank/Salary: SL4/$60,000-$65,000 (Commensurate with experience)
