General Summary: The duties of the Human Resources Data Coordinator will assist HR in retaining our outstanding faculty and staff by providing excellent customer service .As the Data Coordinator, you will assist the HR office in supporting SPU and its mission by providing key data processing and analysis, reconciliations, report production and auditing for accuracy. The HR Data coordinator is also responsible for some web page updates, maintenance and special forms creation.

Job Description:

  • The HR Data Coordinator will have the opportunity to use their attention to detail and accuracy with data to input and update data touching all points of the employee cycle, from on boarding to benefits changes, reconciliation and separation data.
  • The Data Coordinator is a crucial part of the HR team adding essential support in serving as a main point of contact for classification review data, and processing the appropriate systems updates for the classification review process related to compensation system planning.
  • The HR Data Coordinator will also use their skills as a collaborator and team player as they work closely with the Financial Affairs office (Payroll, Budget, Controller, Accounting) to ensure the accuracy of the employee database, performing regular audits of information shared to accurately process payroll and salary demographic data used for staff salary planning and other reporting.
  • The Data Coordinator will also maintain supervisor management in the Banner system for timely and accurate completion of leave and timesheet reporting.
  • In an opportunity to ensure satisfaction with benefit use, the HR Data Coordinator will assist with and perform data reconciliations between the HR and Finance systems related to employee benefit withholdings and assignments.
  • On an annual basis the Data Coordinator reviews staff and faculty detail forms to ensure employees are set up and paid in the correct manner.
  • As volunteers and contracted employees assist the University, the Data Coordinator will collaborate with a variety of departments to provide a non-employee profile set up so access and work happens in an efficient manner.
  • Assists the University with compliance and employees with opportunities for professional development by maintaining SPU's learning management system, Percipio.
  • The HR Data coordinator will also use their technical creative skills to create and maintain forms as needed to assist employees and the department using tools such as Adobe Sign, SharePoint, Formstack and other web forms.


  • 2-3 years of experience with administrative and data-related work in a similar environment. Experience working with HRIS systems/ HR data management is a plus.
  • Proven time management and follow-through abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires attention-to-detail and an understanding of data systems and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with/experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint. Experience with , Adobe Professional and Contribute is also preferred.
  • Preferred experience with Ellucian Banner, JIRA, ARGOS, and WIKI writing and editing.

Position will remain open until filled. This position is 32 hours per week.

Salary: $23 – $25.75 per hour, DOE

At 32 hours per week, this position comes with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan.
