Sam Houston State University — Asst. Professor Psychology (Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology)

The Department of Psychology and Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor position in its APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology to begin in the Fall 2022 semester. The Department of Psychology & Philosophy is launching a cluster hiring initiative to appoint up to five tenure-track faculty members who(se): 1) bring visibility, renown, and additional impact to our department, 2) add to a long -standing goal of increasing diversity (e.g., ethnic, LGBTQI+, religious, etc.) across our department, and 3) intellectual and pedagogical expertise engages racial intersectionality.

Applicants must have expertise in health service psychology, a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program, and must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas (applicants who are ABD will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be conferred by the start date of the position). The doctoral program has an emphasis area of forensic psychology; candidates with expertise at the intersection of psychology and law are especially welcomed. In addition, the department is very interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: research and practice with children and adolescents, research and practice related to diversity and inclusion, and/or research and practice related to neuropsychology, particularly neuropsychological assessment.

Duties will include conducting and supervising research, supervising theses and dissertations, supervising clinical practica, and teaching in the graduate (masters and doctoral) and undergraduate programs in the department. Candidates with demonstrated potential for extramural funding are encouraged to apply.
