Northeast Ohio Medical University — Senior Support Technician

The Senior Support Technician is will be responsible to provide technology support in the desktop environment, structured cabling, as well as certain administrative systems. This technology position will have positive interaction with Faculty, Staff, Students and other organizational customers at the technical level, as required. The position reports to the Manager, Desktop and Infrastructure Systems. Responsible for other duties, as assigned or required.

Pay Grade: 8
Salary Range: $46,300-$50,000
Location: Rootstown, OH

Principal Functional Responsibilities

  1. Troubleshoot, diagnose and remediate hardware, software and networking connectivity issues on end-user devices/computers.
  2. Monitor certain administrative systems for maintenance and performance.
  3. Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  4. Proficiency in diagnostics, opening and maintaining trouble tickets, troubleshooting problems to resolution.
  5. Collaborate and support network and server administrators to perform routine, on-site maintenance and recovery tasks for networking and server equipment.
  6. Support client/server implementations, upgrades, and support.
  7. Administrate and support services; including email, print.
  8. PC replacement plan. Coordinate, install, image, and preparation & disposition of computing assets.

Education/Degrees: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a closely related field.

  • Experience: Five years of experience providing desktop support in multiple hardware and software platforms including Apple products. Must have effective problem-solving skills and be able to find solutions to existing or new, complex technology issues. Must have experience with server management in an enterprise environment including change management and other controls such as regular patching and vulnerability management. Must be proficient with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DNS & DHCP and user account management processes.
