Le Moyne College — Tenure-Track Faculty Position In Molecular and Cellular Biology

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Le Moyne College invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty opening for the position of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2022.  The Department seeks broadly trained candidates in the areas of Cell & Molecular Biology or Microbiology who are dedicated to undergraduate teaching excellence with a commitment to a strong research agenda at a comprehensive liberal arts institution.  We are searching for candidates who demonstrate the ability to primarily teach both Cell & Molecular Biology and Microbiology.  Other teaching responsibilities may occasionally include: Genetics, General Biology or additional courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.  The successful candidate will teach 3 courses per semester (which may sometimes include a lab section), establish a productive research program in Cell & Molecular Biology and/or Microbiology and mentor undergraduate students in the research laboratory.  Finally, successful candidate will be expected to engage in internal and external College service activities.

Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Molecular and/or Cellular Biology or related field (i.e., Microbiology).  ABD will be given consideration. Qualified candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate courses, as well as an active record of research /scholarly activity within the field of study.
