Washington State University — Faculty Position in Psychology

The Psychology Department at Washington State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, position in the area of human health, stress and resilience at the Pullman campus. We seek applicants who conduct research connected to human stress and resilience, who have research expertise that bridges between psychological and biological factors, and who can contribute to research on health disparities and underserved populations. Those with a cognitive or social perspective are especially encouraged to apply. Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will contribute to Washington State University’s Health Equity Research Center (HERC; https://healthequity.wsu.edu/ ), which involves diverse faculty conducting research on human health and health disparities across biological, psychological, family and community levels.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a productive research program, seek appropriate grant funding, mentor graduate student research, teach graduate and undergraduate courses on topics in psychology (such as health, social, cognitive, developmental or quantitative methods), and collaborate with members of other departments and programs.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2022.

Qualifications: An earned doctoral degree in Psychology by start of appointment, and a demonstrated record of research publication in human stress and health.  Only applicants conducting research with human populations will be considered.  Preferred qualifications include previous postdoctoral experience of 12 months or more and a strong potential of grant funding.  Applicants who worked with disadvantaged populations are especially valued.
