Purdue University — Associate Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Working under the direction of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion, the Associate Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is part of the leadership team responsible for working toward creating and sustaining a welcoming campus where all can excel, increasing and retaining the number of historically underrepresented and diverse faculty and staff, and supporting the continued development of a climate where all can thrive.  Within this capacity, the role will have specific responsibility for faculty and staff-facing educational and professional development opportunities, including those related to recruitment and success; teaching and learning initiatives; external institutional and community partnerships; research and other forms of scholarly engagement.  Additionally, this role will work to strategically align efforts across colleges, pursue and guide external funding, and serve as the point person for divisional operations and space management.


  • Master’s Degree
  • Ten or more years of proven, progressive experience advancing goals related to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Ability to think strategically along with a strong background in diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to be a change manager and project manager who can build consensus
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions
  • Ability to build relationships and work across diverse groups
  • Ability to interpret data and create compelling reports
