The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of epilepsy and must be nationally renowned in this field. While continuing our tradition as a national leader in teaching and research, the new Director will have a record of clinical excellence and will be charged with leading our rapidly expanding clinical epilepsy network into our new flagship Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), 8 affiliated regional hospitals and multiple outpatient facilities serving the mid-Atlantic region. Applicants must have an M.D. degree or equivalent. Board-certified in both Neurology and Epilepsy.

Teaching responsibilities may include guiding and participating in training and mentoring of medical students, residents, fellows and faculty in the field of epilepsy, neurology and career development.

Clinical responsibilities may include guiding and participating in the acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, intracranial electroencephalography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy, intra and extra-operative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include candidate having a successful track record of scholarship in epilepsy, with a focus on clinical translation, that will complement their position as a clinical leader in Penn Medicine.

The Penn Epilepsy Center (PEC), is one of the world's leading centers for clinical epilepsy care, teaching and research. The successful candidate will join our established group of epileptologists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, technologists, social workers, and clinical trials staff. The Director will have prior experience leading growth and relationship-building across a varied network of both owned and community practices, hospitals, and programs, and be an accomplished administrator, clinician and teacher. The Director will join our thriving, multi-faceted epilepsy research programs.
