Coastal Carolina University — Sustainability Coordinator

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Sustainability Coordinator (Program Assistant). 

Duties include, but are not limited to: hire, train, and manage Eco-Rep student staff to work collaboratively in developing programs that promote sustainability to students, staff, faculty, and community representatives; coordinate and promote sustainability initiatives that align with CCU’s climate action plan; coordinate and promote existing programs such as Campus Salvage, Weight the Waste, Pop-Up Thrift Shop, Earth Fair, and Farmers Markets; coordinate and promote sustainability at orientations for staff, faculty, and students; create and execute field trips and other sustainability offerings through TDSE; coordinate workshops, guest speakers, film series, etc. to continue educating the CCU community; execute the Sustain Coastal marketing plan through tabling, social media, press conferences, presentations, etc., assists with updating Sustain Coastal website and dash boarding system; model, promote and ensure exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large; represent CCU as a leader in the community regarding sustainability, both managing opportunities and initiating relationships; assist with coordination and execution of large-scale waste diversion efforts such as athletic events and move-in weekend; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience are required. A valid driver’s license is also required. Two (2) years of experience in the sustainability field and at least one (1) year supervisory experience are preferred.

Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University. This position will require weekend and night work with athletic and special events.
