Job Description:
SUNY Empire State College seeks a project coordinator in the college’s Saratoga Springs location.  The successful candidate will provide high-level, active coordination for a variety of projects in the SUNY Empire Online and in support of the college’s participation in SUNY Online.  The project coordinator is responsible for assigned projects, creates and executes project work plans and revises them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. This position will require skill in customer service, problem solving, communication, and analysis. The ideal candidate will exercise independent judgement to support and advance ongoing projects, working with stakeholders in the college, in SUNY, and in the larger community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects
  • Prepare reports and briefings in advance of meetings
  • Coordinate stakeholder activities across variety of projects
  • Liaise with department chairs, directors, SUNY Empire and SUNY Online instructional designers, project leads from SUNY Empire and SUNY Online, and other members of the college’s academic administration
  • Conduct research pertaining to projects coordinated
  • Coordinate communications to SUNY Empire population
  • Organize and advance workflows at the direction of supervisor
  • Support academic program development
  • Provide regular updates on project status, and follow-up as necessary

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university
  • Two or more years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Development and preparation of data relevant to project completion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
  • Excellent judgement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university
  • Previous project coordination experience
  • Experience working in a college or university setting
  • Familiarity with online teaching and learning
  • Familiarity with Airtable or other relational databases used for organizing information and collaborating

Special Information:

  • This position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY
  • This is a temporary position and is contingent on funding, and may be renewable.
  • The position requires a physical presence in the college’s Saratoga Spring location, though some ability to work remotely may be possible.
  • Occasional travel may be required

Rank/Salary: SL2/$50,000+
