Coastal Carolina University — Director of Off-Campus Student Services & Civic Engagement

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for a Director of Off-Campus Student Services & Civic Engagement. Coastal Carolina University seeks a Director of Off-Campus Student Services & Civic Engagement. This new position at CCU will be responsible for designing and implementing an array of services to help off-campus and commuter students be more engaged at the university. 

The director will also collaborate closely with campus partners to encourage and foster responsible decision-making and self-accountability among off-campus students. Specifically, this role will manage the University’s day-to-day relationship with off-campus apartment complexes; serve as a member of both the Community Alliance and Student Affairs Deans/Directors team; create, implement, and oversee a comprehensive education program that equips students for the benefits and challenges of living off-campus, including but not limited to understanding leases, managing conflict, being a good neighbor, budgeting, engaging with your community, and representing CCU; and create an off-campus liaison/ambassador team of students to assist with content creation and delivery throughout the multiple communities adjacent to campus. 

The director will serve as a chair or co-chair for the University’s Environmental Management Committee to facilitate campus-wide awareness of, engagement in, and solution-generation for the student experience. The director will oversee the university’s off-campus website and annual off-campus housing fair and partner with Student Conduct to develop, implement, and oversee a robust set of conflict resolution services. Additionally, the director will supervise the Coordinator for Civic Engagement, and direct the operations and activities of the civic engagement functional area. This position will also serve in the on-call rotation with other senior staff in Student Affairs for after hour emergencies; and perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: a bachelor’s degree and professional experience in a higher education setting are required. A master’s degree in higher education or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in higher education student affairs are preferred.
