The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of translational brain tumor research and sufficient leadership experience to help lead one of the premier Brain Tumor Centers in the country. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include education of undergraduate, graduate and medical students in addition to residents.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include basic/translational brain tumor research. Applicants' current research interests may include traditional wet lab or in silico/bioinformatic research. Ideal candidates are expected to generate high-level research leading to peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, and robust independent funding from the National Institutes of Health and other funding agencies. The ideal candidate should have a current record of independent funding, a strong history of mentorship, and the capacity to work collaboratively with clinicians to generate novel clinical trial concepts.
