Working under the direction of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion, the Associate Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is part of the leadership team responsible for working toward creating and sustaining a welcoming campus where all students can excel, increasing and retaining the number of historically underrepresented and diverse students, faculty and staff, and preparing all students to thrive in our diverse, global environment. Within this capacity, the role will have specific responsibility and be the point person on the implementation of the Board of Trustees Equity Task Force (ETF) recommendations for black and other underrepresented undergraduate students.

Required:

  • Master’s degree
  • 12 years of proven, progressive experience advancing racial equity metrics in a higher education setting
  • Experience managing and developing staff
  • Strategic thinker that has a strong background in diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent communicator, change manager and project manager that can build consensus
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions
  • Ability to build relationships and work across diverse groups
  • Ability to interpret data and create compelling reports
