Lisa Anderson-Levy Appointed Provost at Highly Rated Macalester College in Minnesota

Lisa Anderson-Levy will become the executive vice president and provost at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She will begin her new job on July 6.

Dr. Anderson-Levy joins Macalester from Beloit College in Wisconsin, where she spent the past 13 years as a professor of anthropology. At Beloit, Professor Anderson-Levy served as associate dean of academic affairs and as chair of the department of anthropology.

Professor Anderson-Levy’s scholarly interests focus on race, class, and gender in the Caribbean and United States. Her ongoing research examines the operations of whiteness as identity, structural apparatus, and ideology. She is a retired officer of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

“I look forward to working with students, staff, and faculty to continue building student-centered experiences at Macalester.
