Summary:
Both positions will serve as a member of a team of committed professionals responsible for recruiting and enrolling a highly talented and diverse incoming class from secondary schools in the U.S. and abroad, with the goal of enriching the quality of intellectual engagement, extracurricular life, and diversity of the Colorado College community.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

 Work Collaboratively with the Associate Director of Outreach & Access to develop a recruitment and enrollment plan that
looks to increase the quality and quantity of traditionally underrepresented students at Colorado College.
 Serve on the Outreach & Access team
 Oversee the hiring and direction of Outreach & Access Student Interns and utilizing them in FCV, yield efforts and project
management.
 Coordinate and carry out recruiting efforts for targeted populations by working with key campus constituents including but
not limited to: the Butler Center, Financial Aid, Collaborative for Community Engagement, Bridge Scholars Program.
 Participate in general yield activities for admitted students and coordinate and execute Funded Campus Visits (FCV)
Programs: ECC & ASOH Fly-In by developing selection process, program, project management, budget, and reporting.
 Serve as a senior application reader.
 Assigned to a primary recruitment market in the United States and/or international market.
 Conduct on-campus and off-campus interviews with prospective students, collaborate with admission volunteers.
 Lead information sessions for prospective students and their families.
 Cultivate key relationships and partnerships with external constituents in assigned recruitment market, with special attention
to Community Based Organizations (CBO) in Colorado,; travel six to eight weeks during key recruitment periods.
 Plan, implement, and assess an ambitious set of recruiting, selection, and enrollment initiatives, goals, and marketing
strategies; prepare regular reports.
 Read electronic applications during the selection cycle; analyze academic performance data, assess writing preparedness, record
pertinent information, calculate ratings according to rubrics; provide context and analysis on the pool and market; assist with
sub-committee review; participate in full committee conversation; serve as a voting member of the admission committee.
 Interact with constituents through email, phone and virtual means; analyze, revising and edit responses and visit-related
messages.
 Support hospitality efforts for admission office visitors, including serving at front desk, promoting a welcoming atmosphere,
providing information about Colorado College.
 Support and advocate for students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups; students from low income families; and
first-generation college students in the admission recruitment and evaluation process

RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
 All Assistant Director responsibilities listed above
 Direct the work of other professional staff for special programs and projects
 Develop and manage budget for assigned programs and projects.
 Serve as a decision maker in the absence of the Associate Director of Outreach and Access

o Actively support the college’s plan to be an antiracist institution by understanding, engaging with, and promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the college community.
o Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe
situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
o Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the college’s sustainability
initiatives and innovation.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two years of directly related experience; previous experience in territory management, proven ability in professional project management; sensitivity to multicultural, socioeconomic and regional differences among

Master’s degree in a related field; three or more years of related experience in admission or a higher educational setting with extensive experience working with traditionally underrepresented populations including but not limited to – Native/Indigenous community; Black/African American community; first-generation to attend college; low-income/resourced students; rural students. Experience with holistic file review and selective college admission; familiarity with Technolutions Slate, Microsoft Excel, HTML, and Adobe Acrobat; supervisory experience; proficient in two or more languages. community; Black/African American community; first-generation to attend college; low-income/resourced students; rural students. Master’s degree in a related field; four or more years of related experience in admission or a higher educational setting with extensive experience working with traditionally underrepresented populations including but not limited to – Native/Indigenous community; Black/African American communities; first-generation to attend college; low-income/resourced students; rural students. Significant experience in event management and budgeting and in programming focused on providing resources for underserved populations. Significant experience with holistic file review and selective college admission; proven abilities using Technolutions Slate and/or other Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools Microsoft Excel, HTML, and Adobe Acrobat; supervisory experience; proficient in two or more languages.
