Job Description:
The Information Security Analyst works with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in developing and maintaining the University’s information security services, including secure computing practices, consulting and education, incident response and investigations, and policy compliance. The incumbent works with cross-functional teams to design and implement initiatives and serves as a resource on information security technologies and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop existing security tools and services
  • Perform risk assessments, including recommending remediation strategies
  • Evaluate current and future requirements and then develop or recommend technical and operational solutions accordingly
  • Be available to provide scheduled support and consultation outside normal business hours, including occasional evenings, holidays, or weekends, within reasonable professional obligation and expectation
  • Actively participate, as needed, in projects related to the information security program

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Three years experience in an information security role or responsibility; this work should be detailed in a cover letter
  • Practical experience in the following areas: 
    • Vulnerability management tools
    • Incident response tools
    • Log collection and correlation tools
    • Network tools (firewalls, intrusion detection, traffic analysis, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Applicants must clearly address their ability to work with a culturally diverse population in their application or during the interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud security tools
  • Experience with automating and orchestrating information security workflows
  • Relevant skill certifications (CISSP, CEH, GIAC, etc.)
  • Experience with higher education technology environments
