Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a visionary, transformative, and strategic leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Business. The mission of Southeastern’s AACSB-accredited College of Business is to provide real-world ready educational experiences for personal, professional, and intellectual growth; to enable the creation and sharing of knowledge to enhance learning and to advance the ever-evolving practice of business; and to engage students, faculty, and stakeholders to positively impact the local, regional, national, and international communities. With over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and approximately 50 faculty, the college offers six undergraduate majors and a Master of Business Administration.

The dean is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the college and reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include supporting an environment that encourages excellence in teaching and scholarship, program development, and active collaboration within the college, across the university, and with the community at large. Reporting administratively to the dean are the assistant dean; department heads of Accounting and Finance, Management and Business Administration, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management; and directors of Graduate Business Programs.

The appointment is a 12-month position. The beginning date is negotiable, with July 2021 preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience. Consideration is assured for applications received by March 24, 2021. The search will continue until the position is filled.

  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university in a discipline (or closely related area) offered by the college
  • Successful administrative experience at an AACSB-accredited college at the department head, assistant dean, dean, or other comparable administrative experience appropriate for the college
  • Record of teaching, scholarship and service sufficient for appointment as full or associate professor at Southeastern in a discipline (or closely related area) offered by the college.


  • Record of teaching, scholarship and service sufficient for appointment as full professor at Southeastern in a discipline (or closely related area) offered by the college.
  • Experience with successful AACSB accreditation efforts
  • Proven history of securing external funding, creating partnerships with the local, national, and international business communities, and appropriate responses to an increasingly dynamic global environment


  • Knowledge of AACSB accreditation standards and processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with department heads, faculty, staff, and other deans and administrators at all levels within the college and University
