Job Description
Under administrative direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating Fiscal and Business Services activities for Thunderbird School of Global Management entities – ASU and the 501c3. Functions include budgeting, salary planning, accounting, strategic planning, purchasing, student support/scholarship distribution, staff supervision, internal procedures and other functions designated by the Chief Operating Officer. As Thunderbird is a global school, all activities occur at a global level. A global mindset must be present when performing the functions of the Senior Director.

Salary Range
$100,000 – $130,000 per year; DOE

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND ten (10) years of related experience which includes five (5) years of management/supervisory experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in working for a global institution and/or in higher education. (3 years)
  • Experience in management multiple sets of accounting books.
  • Evidence of second language preferred.
  • Experience in managing a team; managing, supervising, coaching and evaluating assigned staff. (3 years)
  • Experience working with diverse teams.
  • Evidence of having a global mindset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to global business.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.

  • Experience in budget preparation and forecasting.

  • Experience in problem solving and decision-making.
  • Experience in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.

  • Experience in providing leadership.
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential functions
