Olivet College — Assistant Professor of Statistics

Olivet College, a liberal arts college in south central Michigan with a long-standing commitment to inclusion and diversity, seeks an Assistant Professor of Statistics to work with students and to instruct in our programs in this area.

Position Requirements: Ph.D. in Statistics or Mathematics is desired; ABD or a master’s degree in Statistics with experience in the field of actuarial science will be considered. Preference given to candidates with academic expertise in actuarial science and/or mathematics related to data science. Demonstrated success in college-level teaching is required.

Responsibilities: Full-time faculty members teach 24 credit hours (or the equivalent) over two semesters. Successful candidates are expected to teach a broad range of undergraduate statistics and mathematics courses in growing and dynamic programs. Faculty responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, engaging in scholarly activities, and participating in other service activities in support of the college and its mission. Candidates must bring the ability to create a positive classroom experience and a commitment to mentoring undergraduates in a collaborative and diverse environment.
