Mount Mercy University — Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity

Mount Mercy University is seeking candidates to fill the position of Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity. The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity reports to the Vice President for Student Success and is responsible for leading initiatives to support multicultural student and international student persistence initiatives, diversity and inclusion community programming, non-majority student and organization mentoring, campus cultural and equity initiatives, as well as reporting requirements for international students.  Additionally, the Director will facilitate the implementation of our Culture, Community, and Inclusion Strategic Action Plan (2020-23) in partnership with our Mission and Ministry department.  A complete job description can be found here: {https://www.mtmercy.edu/careers/director-diversity}

The director takes an active role in coordinating strategic persistence initiatives and a vibrant calendar of culturally rich programming. The director is responsible for leading efforts directed at diverse student persistence; advising, directing, engaging, and guiding U.S. multicultural and international student populations through degree completion.  This person also serves as an institutional designee responsible for all communication with international students and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Office (USCIS), and coordinates all reporting requirements through SEVIS, including serving as a DSO (Designated School Official).

We are looking to hire with the purposes of diversifying our Student Services team to meet the changing demographics of our student population.  The right team member will promote and represent the Student Services area and Mount Mercy University in a professional manner at all times as they partner with both on and off campus community members.  They will be asked to mentor students from a diverse background and support the strong tradition of our vibrant learning and living committee while contributing to the Catholic heritage as well as Sisters of Mercy tradition of educating the whole person. This position requires an individual to be proactive and take the lead on initiatives in collaboration with both the Student Services team and greater Mount Mercy University community.
