Required Minimum Quals:
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing professional staff to achieve organizational goals
Demonstrated experience in promoting and supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion
Master’s degree plus five+ years working in higher education
PhD or terminal degree which would allow a courtesy term faculty appointment in a STEM department
Experience with data-informed decision-making
Demonstrated success with grant writing and fundraising

Job Description:
The Program for Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for the Director position.

This position directs WiSE, a university-level program providing outreach and support for K-12 and undergraduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The mission of WiSE is to increase gender representation and advocate for equity in STEM. Responsibilities of the Director include strategic planning, financial operations (including fundraising and grant development), staff supervision and leadership on campus and external committees. The Director will work collaboratively with key leaders to support and further gender equity and inclusive practices in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of STEM students. The successful candidate will engage with program staff to lead an innovative, inclusive, and diverse culture. Communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage stakeholders are imperative for this leadership position.
