Baker University — Visiting Assistant Professor of Business

Baker University’s Department of Business & Economics (hereafter Department) seeks applications for a two-year visiting assistant professor of business, beginning August 2021. Conversion to a tenure-track position is a possibility. Along with a passion for undergraduate teaching and an appreciation for the role of the business curriculum in a liberal arts setting, a strong candidate will have teaching expertise in accounting and finance, and be a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Strong candidates will also show evidence of providing effective support and guidance for students pursuing internships, and display an eagerness to actively engage with the Kansas City area business community. A master’s-level degree in business or a related field is required, while a doctoral degree is preferred.

Founded by a Methodist bishop in 1858, Baker is the oldest university in Kansas. The Department is part of the University’s College of Arts and Sciences located in Baldwin City, Kansas. The Department offers majors in Accounting, Business, Economics, International Business, and Sports Administration.

This position is non-tenure-track and at the assistant professor rank. The finalist will be offered a one-year contract for the 2021-2022 academic year, renewable for a second year (the 2022-2023 academic year). Eligible candidates will be considered based on their (1) teaching experience and (2) demonstrated ability to foster student engagement and success.
