Saint Louis University — Tenure Track Assistant Professor, African American Studies and Education

The successful candidate will offer one course per semester while directing the Shut it Down project housed in the School of Education. The Shut It Down project is a program that works to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline through coaching St. Louis area K-12 teachers and administrators in restorative justice practices. Candidates must demonstrate commensurate scholarly potential, works in progress, plans for future research, connection to intellectual communities that will support a productive research plan, and potential for success as a teaching scholar. Candidates should also demonstrate strong teaching potential including experience teaching African American Studies to a diverse population of undergraduates, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and research mentoring of undergraduates.
