Loyola Marymount University — Assistant Director of Admission for Diversity, Inclusion & Outreach

The Office of Undergraduate Admission at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for an Assistant Director of Admission for Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach. This position reports directly to the Senior Director for Undergraduate Admission. The Assistant Director will have direct responsibility for developing strategies to recruit and enroll underrepresented students generally, and Black students specifically, at the University.

The Assistant Director of Admission for Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach will develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategy designed to increase Black undergraduate student enrollment at LMU. Serve as the team lead for inclusive outreach, collaborating with colleagues responsible for recruiting Latino/a and Asian/Pacific Islander students to ensure consistency of approach and customization of recruitment efforts for specific student populations. Read and evaluate first-year undergraduate applications in accordance with University and Enrollment Management policies, goals, and metrics for admissibility. Coordinate and staff on-campus and virtual programs and events on behalf of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Travel extensively in- and out-of-state to recruit prospective underrepresented students. The Assistant Director will manage assigned territories by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting demographic data and adjusting recruitment strategies based on findings and yield history. Oversee a team of student workers, tasked with supporting Black student recruitment efforts as well as overall admission goals. Identify and partner with community-based organizations and associations to recruit underrepresented students.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in higher education or related field strongly preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes. Minimum three years working in Higher Education, Community Based Organizations, or related area. Demonstrated experience and commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Experience leading educational workshops in a college environment. Demonstrated leadership and the ability to make independent decisions and meet deadlines is essential to this position.

Demonstrated success in relationship building and a track record of leveraging resources to accomplish strategic objectives. Attention to detail and experience using technology, and data to effectively build and communicate recruitment strategies are required.
