Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry (Biorganic/Forensic)

Fall 2021, full time tenure track position, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry ~ Position is subject to budget availability and funding.

East Stroudsburg University (ESU) Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of Biorganic/Forensic Chemistry, beginning in August of 2021. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry and 3 or more years of experience teaching a variety of courses including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Instrumentation/Forensic-Based courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry. In addition, the candidate may be assigned specialty courses in Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicology and must contribute to the development of upper-division hybrid courses for the B.S. in Chemistry.  The candidate will also be expected to actively engage undergraduates in research that compliments the current ESU faculty and collaborate effectively with the ESU DNA lab in Forensic Analyses.

Faculty at ESU are also expected to serve the University by participation in activities to include, but not limited to, committee memberships, curriculum development and outreach.

Required Qualifications: 
The candidate will have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry and 3 or more years of experience teaching a variety of courses including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Instrumentation/Forensic-Based courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry.\

Preferred Qualifications: All areas of specialty within the scope of Chemistry and Biochemistry will be considered. A strong publication record in the area is desirable, as is experience in obtaining research grant funding. The successful candidate will be a skillful educator who demonstrates the ability to apply the necessary skillset (including classroom technologies), flexibility and dedication to successfully teach courses at a broad range of level, class-sizes, with students of diverse backgrounds, preparation and professional goals.
