Presbyterian College — Provost

Presbyterian College seeks a leader to serve as its Provost, continue its rich 140-year legacy, and expand its reputation as one of the best small colleges in America. The current higher education climate presents a prime opportunity for true leadership and requires a leader who loves the mission of shaping lives and possesses the experience and skills to lead a complex higher education organization that supports excellence in academics and student success.

The Provost is the chief academic officer of the College, reporting directly to the President and serving on the leadership team. The Provost is directly responsible to the President for the operation of educational programs of the College, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Health Professions, and the School of Pharmacy.

As such, the Provost is particularly charged with developing and supervising the instructional activities, the recommending of the selection and promotion of teachers, the improvement of the courses of study, the providing of appropriate teaching facilities, the maintaining of high academic standards, and the encouragement of scholarly activity on the part of both faculty and students. These responsibilities make his/her primary concern those matters dealing with the faculty and the educational activities of the students. However, the breadth of responsibility also includes attention to extra-curricular activities, questions of student discipline, or admissions and housing, insofar as these affect the intellectual and spiritual development of students, the well-being of the faculty, and the general welfare of the College.
