The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of basic laboratory research, clinical/translational research or outcomes/health services research. Particular areas of programmatic emphasis include data science, early-phase therapeutic trials, genetics and epigenetics, and the metabolic basis of heart and vascular disease. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be ABIM certified/eligible in cardiovascular disease.

Teaching responsibilities may include a variety of settings such as lecturing, small group sessions and teaching/mentoring fellows within the Health System and the VA Medical Center.

Clinical responsibilities may include attending on the inpatient service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the VA Medical Center in addition to attending on the Penn Cardiology fellows clinic.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing an innovative and independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from governmental agencies, private foundations and industry.
