University of Vermont Honors College — Undergraduate Research Coordinator

The office of Fellowships, Opportunities, & Undergraduate Research (FOUR) at the University of Vermont seeks someone who is passionate about helping students’ scholarly development through experiential learning. This position prepares students to work effectively with faculty and other researchers, supports their pursuit of various high-impact practices, promotes research grants, and organizes research forums and workshops. The coordinator works in collaboration with the fellowships advisor and director to support student growth and the attainment of their personal goals. Additionally, FOUR is situated within the Honors College; the coordinator will actively participate in the advising of the college’s students with regards to undergraduate research, funding, and their transition to post-baccalaureate opportunities. We are seeking an advising professional who will champion diversity, develop critical thinkers, and promote acceptance of the plurality of identities within our community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advises students and develops programming to support their engagement in undergraduate research;
  • Coordinate annual research conferences;
  • Cultivates partnerships with academic advisers and other university partners to advance the university’s undergraduate research initiatives;
  • Develop communication and marketing strategies using print, web, and social media to increase visibility of opportunities and outcomes;

Bachelor’s degree in a related or specialized field and one to three years’ related experience required. Preferred qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills, strong knowledge of experiential learning opportunities, direct experience with undergraduate research, advising undergraduates, meticulous dedication to details.
