Jamie Pleasant Is the New Dean of Graduate Education at Clark Atlanta University

Jamie T. Pleasant is the new dean of graduate education at Clark Atlanta University. Dr. Pleasant is a tenured professor in the department of marketing and management at the university. He was associate dean of the School of Business Administration.

Professor Pleasant is the first faculty member in the history of Clark Atlanta University to achieve recognition as a lifetime member of Mensa International. He is the chief executive pastor and founder of New Zion Christian Church in Suwanee, Georgia. Dean Pleasant is the author of several books including Powerful Prayers That Open Heaven (Whitaker Housse, 2018).

Dr. Pleasant received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolin, and a bachelor’s degree in marketing studies from Clemson University in South Carolina, where he also played football. He received an MBA from Clark Atlanta University. Dr. Pleasant was the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in management at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
