University of Pennsylvania — Director of Oncology Intensive Care Unit – Assistant Professor

The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of working with advanced practice providers and/or trainees, may include consultation and diagnosis and ongoing treatment of critically ill patients as an attending on the inpatient medical critical care services within the health system. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching pulmonary and critical care fellows, house staff and medical students. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high quality teaching.

Clinical responsibilities may include delivery of medical critical care services across our integrated health system. The selected candidate will have experience working with advanced practice providers and/or trainees. This may include consultation and evaluation and management of critically ill patients as an attending on the inpatient medical critical care services within the health system.

Administrative experience is required to manage and lead clinical operations in a new Medical Oncology unit.

The academic clinician track requires 100 credits of active and high quality teaching responsibilities. There will be an expectation of the ability of the candidate to manage and lead clinical operations in a new Medical Oncology unit.
