University of Pennsylvania — Academic Breast Surgeon

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of breast surgery or surgical oncology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include education of medical students, residents and fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient, inpatient and operative care of patients with benign and malignant breast disease.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical or basic science research related to breast diseases.

Experience in the specific area of breast cancer and benign breast disease is preferred, as is fellowship training in breast surgery, or surgical oncology with breast emphasis. The clinical practice associated with this position will be based at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, flagship institution of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
