Cleveland State University — Visiting Assistant College Lecturer, Department of Management

Cleveland State University’s Department of Management invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant College Lecturer.

Position: Visiting Assistant College Lecturer—full time, not tenure track; this position has the possibility of reappointment for up to two additional years, based on future departmental needs and university-approved funding.

Start Date: August 17, 2020

Duties: Teach in multiple areas of Management with a primary emphasis teaching Business Strategy; teach four courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels; available to teach on-campus, online, and day/evening; participate in department and college level service.

Qualifications: Minimum: Doctoral degree or “ABD” in Management, or related field, from an AACSB or equivalent accredited college; status of scholarly academic (i.e., ABD/Doctorate earned in last 5 years or Doctorate plus three peer-reviewed publications in last 5 years); experience teaching Business Strategy at the college level.

Preferred: Excellence in teaching and effective communication skills as evidenced by application materials. Full course responsibility for teaching Business Strategy; experience teaching other Management-related courses is desirable. Recent scholarly research or a research program that demonstrates the potential for impact; managerial/industry experience; ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community through teaching.

Department: The Department of Management employs 14 full-time faculty members and offers coursework at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels.

College: Our department is housed within the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The college employs over 60 full-time faculty members. All programs are AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Enrollment exceeds 3,000 students, and the degrees we offer include: DBA, MBA, MCIS, MLRHR, MAcc, BSCIS, and BBA.

University: Cleveland State University enrolls approximately 17,000 students and is located within walking distance of the Cleveland downtown business and entertainment centers. CSU has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio.
