The Next Director of Athletics at Morehouse College in Atlanta

Curtis Campbell, a veteran administrator with nearly 20 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics at both NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III schools, has been hired as the next director of athletics at Morehouse College in Atlanta. He will begin his new job on July 1.

Campbell has served as an athletics director at four colleges and universities: Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois; Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Tuskegee University in Alabama; and most recently at Western Oregon University in Monmouth. There, he managed a $5.1 million budget and a program with 13 sports, 300 student athletes, and 55 employees.

“This position is about managing people, managing resources and providing excellent services to student athletes, alums, and fans,” Campbell said. “I will work diligently to provide student-athletes with great academic and athletic experiences.”

Campbell served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division immediately after high school. He later received his bachelor’s degree in social work from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. He earned a master’s degree in student affairs administration from Radford University in Virginia.
