About the College/Department:

Position Summary:
The College of Education invites applications for the Chair of Curriculum and Instruction. The College of Education at Eastern Kentucky University seeks a dynamic, innovative, and motivational leader with experience in curriculum development, student recruitment, support for faculty and students, and facilitating accreditation processes (e.g., CAEP, state educator program accreditations, SPA accreditation, etc.). The department houses distinct academic programs in teaching and learning. Undergraduate baccalaureate degree programs include elementary, middle grades, and special education with dual certification in either elementary or middle grades. Additionally, the professional education core courses for all teacher preparation programs at the University are housed within the department. Graduate programs include master's degree in elementary, middle, secondary (in partnership with other colleges across campus), P-12, special education, literacy, school librarian, and gifted education; certification programs; and endorsements. Experience teaching in P-12 is required. Administrative experience at the level of coordinator/director or equivalent is desired.

Minimum Qualifications:
Terminal degree from an accredited institution with qualifications appropriate to tenure and rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the department. The candidate should be able to demonstrate a successful record of administrative leadership, teaching, service, and research. Successful candidates will also demonstrate the ability to manage accreditation and certification processes. Because the Department houses graduate online programs, candidates should address their ability to manage online programs. Review of applications will begin March 23, 2020.
