California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) seeks a Manager of Institutional Equity and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess a singular commitment to serving a largely first generation, historically underserved student body and a demonstrated record of advancing inclusive excellence within an academic community. As a regional public comprehensive university, CSUCI is a mission-based institution grounded in its four pillars of integrative approaches, community engagement, and multicultural and international perspectives. The 1200-acre University campus is located in coastal Ventura County and is home to more than 7,000 undergraduate and 230 graduate students.

CSUCI seeks a Manager of Institutional Equity and Deputy Title IX Coordinator who exemplifies excellent leadership and management and demonstrates empathy with high emotional intelligence. Reporting to the Executive Director for Equity & Inclusion, the Manager of Institutional Equity and Deputy Title IX Coordinator will serve a key role in furthering the mission of the Title IX & Inclusion office to develop and manage the University's equal opportunity programs, including Title IX, as well as broad, cross-divisional diversity and inclusion to support the campus-wide goals and objectives, in accordance with all applicable federal and state non-discrimination requirements and laws. Good investigative and analytical skills are a must. This individual must be responsive and collaborative while being attentive to compliance issues, someone who balances care for individuals with institutional policies.

This position will be part of a four-person team. CSUCI has devoted significant resources to sustain this expanded office. The Manager of Institutional Equity and Deputy Title IX Coordinator 's appointment will begin in the summer of 2020.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working on matters of equal opportunity (EO) regulatory compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of legal requirements under applicable federal and state civil rights laws including but not limited to Titles IV, VI, and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991, and Sections 504 & 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
• Demonstrated ability to work with and quickly develop a strong rapport with individuals across the human diversity spectrum.
• Demonstrated ability to capture verbal allegations and statements in writing, remain an objective and neutral fact-finder, apply the facts in the record to the appropriate legal analysis/theory, draft reports that are cogent, factually accurate and legally sound recommending the appropriate disposition on each issue, and handle sensitive cases that may be high-profile and emotionally charged in a prudent and confidential manner.
