Wichita State University — Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Wichita State University is seeking applicants for two Assistant Professor, tenure-eligible, 9-month positions in Speech-Language Pathology. PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders required; ASHA Certification highly preferred. All areas of specialty within the SLP curriculum will be considered.

These positions will teach primarily at the graduate level (although some undergraduate teaching is possible) and mentor student research. Clinical supervision in area of expertise may be required. The successful candidates will demonstrate potential for developing a line of research supported by extramural funding. Experience with interprofessional education, grant-writing, and refereed publication preferred.

Wichita State University is located in the largest metropolitan area in Kansas. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is housed within the College of Health Professions, and offers the BA, MA, AuD and PhD degrees. The state-of-the-art Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic provides both speech pathology and audiology diagnostic and therapy services. Five clinical research labs are available within the Department for faculty and student endeavors.

Wichita has vibrant music, art and theater offerings and also a wide range of sporting venues. The cost of living is affordable and commuting time within the city is reasonable.
