The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College — Program Manager for Student Success

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) invites applications for a Program Manager for Student Success. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5000 students. The Program Manager is central to creating and promoting a welcoming campus climate at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College and coordinating programs to support the success of all students. Specifically, the Program Manager will oversee initiatives to support Cincinnati Public School graduates into and through their studies at UC.  

The Program Manager of Student Success will:

  • Supervise all success coaches who work directly with first-year students
  • Coordinate onboarding and on-going training for success coaches
  • Manage database of student groups, including coaching assignments and reports:
    • Incoming students’ success coaching assignments
    • Student engagement in workshops and 1:1 meetings
    • On-going observation of student engagement overall
    • Post-term reports on engagement and success after each semester
    • Addition of new students and removal of unenrolled students each term
  • Capacity to gather, monitor, analyze, utilize and present data to impact timely support of students and continuous program improvement
  • Manage logistics of Student Success Workshops each semester, including: revising curriculum and logistics
  • Coordinate additional success initiatives introduced to UCBA for example, coordinate a student mentoring program which includes: recruiting, matching, training, ongoing support, events, data, troubleshooting, and more
  • Help identify and escalate critical student issues to appropriate departments
  • Serve as success coach for small caseload of ~25 students
  • Work with university partners to administer other programs at the college.
  • Serve as Access and Student Success liaison for CPS Initiatives at the University

Responsibilities of this position will be allocated as follows:

  • 50% – Management of Success Coaching Program (and related success initiatives at UCBA)
  • 20% – Liaison for (access and student success initiatives) initiatives at UCBA and Clifton campus
  • 20% – Management of Mentoring Program
  • 5% – Meetings and ongoing training
  • 5% – Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- Associate’s degree with five (5) years’ experience; -OR- seven (7) years’ experience. Experience must be in program development. Experience may require at least one (1) year of supervision

Ideal Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Counseling or a related/similar field. Additionally, they will have experience working in a position directly responsible for facilitating student success whether as practitioner or leader. Other ideal qualifications are: Demonstrated experience working with ethnically and culturally diverse students or populations preferably in a college or university setting; knowledge of educational barriers facing underrepresented students, ability to create partnerships in university and surrounding local communities, demonstrated program/event planning and management experience; experience as a supervisor; strength and experience in data management; comfortable with the use of technology including Microsoft Office applications.
