Penn State Dickinson Law has an immediate opening for an Assistant Director in our Career Services Office. The overarching mission of Dickinson Law is to produce profession-ready lawyers who are equipped with the skills and competencies necessary to excel in an increasing global legal market. Learn more about Dickinson Law at The successful candidate will be responsible for working with internal and external sources to identify, meet, and follow up with prospective employers in order to educate them about Dickinson Law and to identify potential job opportunities for Law School students and graduates. The Assistant Director will be primarily responsible for Dickinson Law's summer internship and post-graduate employment recruiting programs. The Assistant Director will be the Law School's primary representative to bar associations and various law school consortium groups and will be the individual to coordinate the Law School's participation in consortium-related job fairs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with international students and strong relationships with employers who hire international students. It is expected that the incumbent in this position will be required to travel occasionally. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the Law School's career portal (powered by 12Twenty), including job postings, interview sessions and tracking student data, including employment outcomes. The Assistant Director will manage auditable American Bar Association(ABA), National Association for Law Placement(NALP) and US News data that is used in mandatory reporting. The successful candidate will meet regularly with students to help them discern career objectives and will counsel students about career objectives, including helping students with application materials and interview preparation. The Assistant Director will help plan and execute Career Services Office programming. Professional demeanor, project management capabilities and excellent customer service skills needed. Ability to work well with a diverse law student/alumni population, excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated organizational skills are essential. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with a J.D. are preferred.
