The University of Missouri — Vice Chancellor for Advancement

As it brings to a successful conclusion the largest funding campaign in its history, the University of Missouri (Mizzou) seeks a vice chancellor for advancement to lead the institution to even greater levels of success. Through research, learning, engagement and economic development, the University of Missouri (MU) creates solutions that solve the grand challenges facing Missouri and the world. 

The new vice chancellor will build upon a successful history of fundraising from engaged, dedicated and loyal alumni and other partners. The vice chancellor will assume leadership of the program as it emerges from the current campaign and will help celebrate its success and steward donors and volunteers in anticipation of planning the University’s next campaign. During that interval, the vice chancellor will focus on building relationships internally and externally to maintain a high level of philanthropic activity. The vice chancellor will collaborate with a thriving alumni relations program that integrates the efforts of advancement, deans and academic units and will inherit a culture that supports an energetic approach to alumni relations and development.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced advancement leader with a demonstrated, successful history as a major and principal gift fundraiser. Superior leadership skills are required, as is a successful track record as a leader or manager of one or more programs of similar scope and complexity. Success in a leadership capacity of one or more campaigns is required, as is a bachelor’s degree (an advanced degree is preferred). Candidates with a history of creativity and innovation, as well as those who demonstrate a commitment to students, faculty and staff above self, are particularly sought.
