Coastal Carolina University — HR Compliance Specialist

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following position: Compliance Specialist (Human Resource Specialist), reporting to the Associate Director for Human Resource Operations in the Office of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity.

Duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring I-9 compliance; coordinating activities related to the Electronic Verification of Employment Eligibility (E-verify) system; conducting periodic compliance reviews; monitoring and ensuring compliance with other programs and services; communicating/coordinating new hire documentation; serving as a liaison regarding employment verifications and unemployment claims; and performing special projects.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent HR related work experience required. Prior customer service experience also required. Experience with Knowledge of federal and SC state laws and regulations as they relate to I-9 and E-Verify preferred. Ability to develop new processes and to discern the need for change and to develop processes as necessary based upon new laws and regulations.  Ability to design, develop and conduct educational efforts regarding legal and regulatory issues.  A successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication and analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize/multi task. Computer competency in using Word, Access, and Excel software is necessary.
