Directing, Theatre – Assistant Professor – Tenure Track, Full Time.

Start: August 2020.

Theatre & Cinema at Virginia Tech seeks an artist with theatre directing credentials, knowledge of contemporary theatre, vision, and desire to create, experiment and collaborate with diverse partners and communities.

The candidate will direct one mainstage and an occasional workshop per year and teach Directing and Script Analysis. Additional teaching assigned dependent upon qualifications, interests, and program needs. The candidate will maintain an active professional career and appropriate research/creative activity. Additional responsibilities include committees, recruitment, and other school/university related duties.

Required qualifications: MFA in Theatre; college level teaching experience; and post graduate directing experience.

Preferred qualifications: professional directing credits; college level teaching experience in directing, script analysis and related areas of directing/performance theatre making; and the ability to teach in a secondary area.
