The University of Northern Colorado (UNC), a Carnegie-classified doctoral/research institution, invites applications and nominations for the assistant vice president for communications and marketing to walk in as a strong and respected leader to influence and help shape a newly formed advancement team.

The Communication and Marketing teams in University Advancement support, trumpet and promote the work of the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and its people. In partnership with the Office of Admissions, the colleges, the Graduate School and Extended Campus, and many other individuals and areas, the staff help to drive and support student recruitment, advance understanding of the university’s contributions to the lives of its students, alumni, community and state, and much more.

The AVP will be an innovative academic marketing expert with the proven leadership and administrative skills that will help continue a long history of excellence within the college and the university, igniting passion and enthusiasm for a newly envisioned path forward.

The ideal candidate will be a creative, inspiring and energetic leader who can advance UNC’s mission. The new leader will report to the vice president of university advancement and will serve as a senior member of the University Advancement leadership team. The AVP will work with the university community to shape, communicate and manage UNC’s message and brand. The assistant vice president for communication & marketing will lead the development and execution of outcome-based communications and marketing strategies in support of the university’s strategic plan and goals. Another critical goal will be guiding the implementation of the Strategic Enrollment and Student Success Plan which aims for UNC to leverage its teacher/scholar model and integrated network of coaching and support resources to attract and provide students with the education, experiences and opportunities they need to succeed and achieve their desired outcomes.
