DePauw University — Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Comparative Global Studies & Political Economy in Education

The Education Studies Department at DePauw University invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in Comparative Global Studies & Political Economy to begin in August 2020. Open to all areas of Comparative Global Studies & Political Economy in Education. A completed Ph.D. in Foundations of Education, Comparative Education, Global Education Studies, or a related field is preferred, although ABD will be considered at the rank of Instructor. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The candidate should be qualified to teach undergraduate courses in two or more of the following areas: Globalization and Education, Political Economy of Schools, Comparative Educational Frameworks, Challenging Theories of Development in Education, and Global Perspectives of Education. Knowledge of decolonialism, anti-imperialism, critical race theories, and/or critical theory preferred. Teaching will include rotating introductory core courses research methods, senior seminar, and courses in the area of specialty. There are opportunities to teach study abroad courses. A commitment to inclusive undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and the ability to engage students in research are essential.

Education Studies at DePauw is a unique interdisciplinary space that understands education as not only located in schools, but woven throughout the everyday practices and spaces of all communities. The curriculum includes introductory core classes (Foundations of Education, Developmental Theories, and Deconstructing Difference), electives, and a capstone sequence of Research Methods and Senior Seminar.
