Valdosta State University — Lecturer, Nursing (Med-Surg)

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position in the School of Nursing. All Valdosta State University faculty share the responsibility of teaching courses at multiple levels as needed in their respective disciplines. To carry out our comprehensive mission, we seek faculty with the desire and ability to successfully engage students as they launch or continue their intellectual journey.

Responsibilities include classroom teaching, clinical teaching and laboratory instruction at the undergraduate level, professional service and scholarship as well as a commitment to the enhancement of all programs within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Required qualifications include Master of Nursing degree; an active unrestricted Georgia registered nursing license or the ability to be licensed; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship; 2 years of Med-Surg Clinical experience; and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in an undergraduate nursing program.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provide programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science degree is granted in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training and Nursing. The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. A minor in Nutrition is also provided. The Nursing program is accredited by the CCNE. Faculty members are actively involved in research, service, scholarship, and professional development.
