The university, which was founded over a century ago as a women’s college, became a fully coeducational university in 2013. Women and men attend classes on the GCU main campus in Lakewood, N.J., on the picturesque former George Jay Gould estate, which is also a National Historic Landmark. Courses are also taught online and at several other locations in New Jersey.

Job Description:
Georgian Court University (GCU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Registrar. As a leading regional university with a 110-year history of preparing students with a strong liberal arts core in the Roman Catholic tradition, GCU is committed to the core values of justice, respect, integrity, service and compassion, locally and globally.

GCU is moving forward with the development of an integrated approach to enrollment management and is searching for a Vice President for Enrollment and Retention as well as the position of Registrar. The new Registrar will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the Registrar’s Office, while overseeing the planning and implementation of new processes and a catalog software system to streamline student, faculty and staff experiences. The successful candidate will manage a team responsible for all aspects of student records including attendance verification, academic standings, degree audit services, transfer credit processing, participation in New Jersey’s articulation agreement system (NJ Transfer), maintaining the course schedule, academic convocation, academic awards, degree audit and grade processing.

The Registrar will evaluate processes for gathering and storing student data that are currently managed both manually and through PowerCampus, the data management system, and optimize the use of PowerCampus to create a helpful, student-centered culture. Maintaining compliance with FERPA, University and state policies and reporting through the National Student Clearinghouse are critical. Together with the Vice President for Enrollment and Retention, the Registrar will develop a vision for the Office of the Registrar that supports the University’s mission and strategic plan. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and pursue best practices to ensure accuracy of student data and to identify and make changes needed to solidify processes campus-wide. He/She will manage the conversion of manual processes to a fully automated operation and, together with the Office of Information Technology, implement GCU’s new catalog software, CourseLeaf’s Catalog Management solution.


The successful candidate will preferably hold a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience as an Associate or Assistant Registrar including at least 5 years of direct college records experience. This position requires a professional with strong knowledge of FERPA, state and federal regulations and proficiency in reporting student data through the National Student Clearinghouse. Familiarity with student information systems, preferably PowerCampus, and catalogue software required. Candidates must possess proven problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, commitment to student service and demonstrated experience collaborating with faculty and staff.
