University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee — Assistant / Associate Professor, Information Technology Management

The Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Information Technology Management to begin in fall 2020.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide high-quality research for publication in top-tier business journals and to demonstrate teaching excellence in the Lubar School. Additionally, the selected candidate will contribute to the mission of the Lubar School by engaging with, mentoring, and advising students, by providing service to the area, School, and University through committee service and other shared governance activities, and by enhancing the School’s strong linkages with the business community. The position also offers significant opportunities to interact with the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, which is a $40 million joint initiative between Northwestern Mutual, UWM, and Marquette University to grow data science programs and research in the region.

Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. in Business or a closely related field, majoring in Information Technology Management/Management Information Systems or a related area, or anticipate completion by August 2020.   Required qualifications include a strong interest in teaching courses in Information Technology Management with demonstrated skills in Artificial Intelligence/Data Science. Also required are proven research skills with a record commensurate with academic rank and excellent teaching evaluations.

Candidates interested in the Assistant Professor tenure-track appointment must have the potential for high-impact research.  Preference will be given to Assistant Professor candidates who possess excellent communication skills as evidenced in teaching evaluations, along with an ability to work collegially and collaboratively within the university and the business community.

Associate Professor candidates will need to meet the tenure criteria for the rank of Associate Professor with qualifications that include a record of exceptional quality research published in top peer-reviewed journals and demonstrated record of teaching excellence.  Preference will be given to Associate Professor candidates with excellent communication skills as documented in teaching evaluations, along with experience in guiding doctoral students and working effectively with the business community.
